Michelangelo. Excited beyond words to be able to see this! Only two cities in the United States and a set of works that according to Frederick News Post, “is typically viewed only by scholars who must travel to the Casa Buonarroti museum in Florence, the city where Michelangelo spent most of his 89 years.”

The drawings are being shown in the Muscarelle Museum of Art through April 14th.

Admission is $15. Children under 12 are free.

Hours: Tue- Sat 10AM – 5 PM, Sun Noon – 5PM

Art Night at the Torpedo Factory will be December 13th from 6-9 PM. The event is free. It will include open studios and galleries, refreshments, the opportunity to interact with artists and shopping. There will also be a craft station where you can make your own holiday ornament.

Georgetown Galleries on Book Hill

Please don’t miss the family friendly holiday event happening tomorrow, December 1st from 4-6 PM. The excitement is taking place in the Georgetown Galleries on Book Hill in DC. There will be carolers, treasure hunts, art, light refreshments, and a charity drive for the Duke Ellington School of Arts.

The galleries are in a cluster and make it convenient to visit one gallery after another, this is one of the few remaining gallery clusters in the city. Please visit this link, Georgetown Galleries on Book Hill, for directions and a list of participating galleries.

The Holiday Market will be held over three weekends starting November 30th. Each weekend will host different artists.

Target Gallery 5x5x5 Exhibition

The Target Gallery in the Torpedo Factory is hosting a juried exhibition that will have 112 small works from around the country. All work is under five inches in any direction.

The reception will be December 13, 2012 at 7:00 pm. There will be a gallery talk by Stefanie Fedor, Executive Director of Arlington Arts Center.

Friends, the post I removed was an error. Paper Art Scene is staying and thriving. I do have a new site http://lillierosa.com/, but will also keep this one.

We most likely will lose power from Tropical Storm Sandy. It is raining and winds are picking up. So, I will be posting soon.
