The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art has a family scavenger hunt every third Saturday of the month. It is free and at the end of the hunt they give kids a take home art activity.

Scavenger Saturdays for Families

Kemper Museum | Free, No Registration Required

Hone your art detective skills and discover something new about contemporary art at the Kemper Museum. The third Saturday of each month is Scavenger Saturdays for families. Children with adults may pick up a self-guided activity at the Visitor Services Desk and follow the clues on this “ART-astic” adventure. When finished with the activity, children may pick up a take-home, art-making activity kit. No reservations are required.

Scavenger Saturdays at the Kemper Museum are made possible with generous support from the R.A. Long Foundation.

Salt Lake Art Center

The Salt Lake Art Center showcases contemporary art. It was founded in 1931 and is in the center of Salt Lake City. They also offer workshops, film screenings, panel discussions, and educational programs.

Want to know the best part? Admission is free.

They have Art Saturday which is for families. An upcoming event is creating solar prints and creating masterpieces with sidewalk chalk in the sculpture garden, sounds really cool. My kids and I have participated in some of these Art Saturdays and have had a blast.

There is also the Art Truck. Yes, it is mobile. The last exhibit was hands on and we were able to create and add to the art display.
